«The Mirror based on the Tale of Ivan Tsarevich, the Firebird and the Gray Wolf» became a moment of creative crystallisation for HHDI. In this project the master's years of experience ceased to be merely a sum of skills and took shape as a flawless, artistically refined form.
The openwork birch plywood frame captures the moment when Ivan Tsarevich reaches for the fiery feather of the Firebird in the garden of golden apples. The finest carving conveys every detail: the apple tree branches, the bird's feathers, the silhouette of Ivan in the lower part of the frame.
The Firebird in Russian legend is a symbol of luck, wish-fulfilment and immortality.
